VASC Conference 2004

“In Our Own Words: Discussions of a Vietnamese America” is the theme of the 2004 Vietnamese American Student Conference (VASC), which will take place on Saturday, May 22 at the UCI Student Center, 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Sponsored by the Vietnamese American Coalition at UCI, the conference focuses on political, social, and community issues affecting Vietnamese Ameri- cans. Madison P. Nguyễn, the first Vietnamese American woman elected official in California , is the keynote speaker. Workshop themes are: 1) Community Politics, 2) Diverse Perspec-

tives and Narratives in Education, 3) Expressive Forms of Art. In addition, Club O’Noodles performers will be on hand to entertain and enlighten.
