Four Artists/Bon Hoa Si

Vietnam's rich artistic traditions and the effects of "dislocation" and cross-cultural experience will be explored in a new exhibition opening in December at the Irvine Fine Arts Center. Presented will be the work of two refugee Vietnamese artists, Viet Nguyen and Hoang Vu, who currently live and work in Orange County, and Richard Turner and William Short, two American artists who have worked in Vietnam.

A bilingual catalog will consist of two essays. One, an overview of Vietnamese art history, will be written by Dong Nguyen. The other essay, by Peter Frank, will critically examine the exhibition.

The exhibition will open on December 6, 1991 and continue through February 21, 1992. The Irvine Fine Arts Center is located at Heritage Park, 14321 Yale Avenue, Irvine CA 92714; (714) 552-1018.
