New Advisory Board Members

We are delighted to announce the addition of two new members to the Southeast Asian Archive Advisory Board.

Professor Lê Xuan Khoa is a new resident of Orange County, coming from the Washington D.C. area. From 1982-1997 Professor Khoa formerly served as President and Executive Director of the Southeast Asia Research Action Center (SEARAC), after which he was an adjunct professor in the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University. In 1994 he published Việt Nam, 1945-1995: chiến tranh, tị nạn, và bài học lịch sử, tập1, (Viet Nam, 1945-1995: wars, refugees and lessons of history, vol. 1). The second volume will concern the history of the refugees and the formation of Vietnamese American communities.

Professor Leakhena Nou is an assistant professor of Sociology at California State University, Long Beach. She comes to Long Beach from the Institute for Asian American Studies at the University of Massachusetts, Boston, and the University of Cambodia, where she was Dean of the College of Social Sciences.

She is interested in health and social psychology issues, and recently has finished a study on social stress among Cambodian adults in the New England area.
