Cambodian Photographic Exhibitions

Two distinct perspectives of Cambodian history and culture are explored in photographic exhibitions currently being held in Long Beach and San Diego.

The Arts of Aspara Gallery and Cultural Center features photographs by Japanese-born photographer, Kendro Izo of the ancient stone temples of Angkor in "Light over Ancient Angkor." The Museum of Photographic Art, 1649 El Prado, Balboa Park, San Diego presents two exhibitions. "Facing Death: Portraits from Cambodia's Killing Fields," pays homage to the thousands of Cambodian men women and children who were systematically photographed before being tortured and executed by Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge. This exhibition closes November 5, 1998. Kendo Izu's photographs of Angkor will be featured through November 10, 1998 in "Light over Ancient Angkor."
