Documenting the Southeast Asian Refugee Experience

The holdings of the Southeast Asian Archive will be the subject of the UC Irvine Langson Library Reynolds Gallery Fall 1998 exhibit, "Documenting the Southeast Asian Refugee Experience." Highlighted are the contributions of numerous donors in building the Archive. All materials in the exhibit are from the Southeast Asian Archive, and individual donors of materials will be recognized throughout.

The exhibit covers the challenges faced by the refugees in fleeing their home countries, including time spent in refugee camps and initial resettlement. Additional materials focus on the experiences and achievements of the Cambodian, Hmong, Lao, and Vietnamese communities in the United States. Items to be exhibited include photographs, works of art, letters, manuscripts, artifacts, and publications.
